The LATC Mission Statement
"Holding true to our traditional values, we will provide transportation professionals, shippers and suppliers a forum to foster relationships, share ideas and solutions while raising funds to support our membership and communities."
A Tradition Since 1924:

Dear LATC Members,
Three terrific executive speaker luncheons are under our belt for 2010, with presentations available at www.latc.la, including a well received and highly informative visit from David Parker, the CEO and Chairman of Covenant Transportation Group in March. Spring is now here, a new (and prosperous?!!) quarter has begun, with April certain to be a very busy and exciting month for the Los Angeles Transportation Club.
Our officers and directors have been actively working on a number of important and timely issues. Along with membership renewals and information updates, our valuable forthcoming Annual Directory will soon be in the mail. Our Sports Committee has received and processed initial allocations for Dodgers and Angels tickets. Our Transportation Night Committee has finalized contracts, pre-planning and marketing setup for our 50th Annual event at Knotts on SEP 17th. The Charity and Scholarship Committees have worked to research, plan and budget for the remainder of 2010 with exciting updates to follow. And our Events Committee has worked to fill in what is turning out to be an outstanding agenda of executive speakers.
Please be sure to check out the programs page for the updated calendar and continue to provide us with your ideas and feedback as we continue to plan ahead in order to best serve our LATC membership. Next up is our Union Pacific Railroad Day on TUE April 13th at the Swiss Park Banquet Center in Whittier featuring the Vice President – Intermodal, Mr. Brian G. McDonald. Then come on out to enjoy and play with your LATC friends and industry colleagues at our Annual Golf Tournament at the California Country Club in the morning on THUR April 15th
As mentioned, the rest of 2010 is shaping up nicely with a strong and diverse second quarter speaker lineup, delivering the nation’s largest railroad, followed by one of the top 3PL’s in Agility Logistics, and then a late June date with the American Trucking Association. Throw in Easter and paying your taxes (or spending that refund), golf with awesome LATC prizes, enjoying all of those new business inquiries and opportunities thanks to your listing (and hopefully an advertisement too) in the LATC Annual Directory, then Mothers Day, Memorial Day, a big primary election, Fathers Day, and enjoying baseball from your amazing LATC seats, and July (featuring Reuben Slone of OfficeMax) will be here before you know it. If you’re like me and exhausted just thinking about it all then simply remember and appreciate that it’s always vacation weather here in sunny SoCal with a nearby and rejuvenating beach just waiting for you.
So, to stay on top of it all and manage your contacts, leads and virtual self, be sure also to join our LATC group on LinkedIn.com and go to www.latc.la to register/rsvp and keep up. As always, please reach out to me or any of your officers and directors listed on the back page with your feedback, questions, ideas and suggestions. Happy Easter and Passover, and thank you for your continued support!
Best regards,
David Green
