Scholarships & Charities
SCHOLARSHIPS Annually the Los Angeles Transportation Club awards scholarships to students continuing their education in transportation, logistics, and supply chain management. In addition, the LATC awards a scholarship to a member’s child who is or will be attending an accredited college or university.
Students are required to fill out an application. The applications are reviewed by an independent selection committee who then makes recommendations to the LATC Board of Directors for final approval.
In the past, the club has awarded scholarships in the amounts of $1,000.00 to $2,000.00. Money for scholarships is raised through various club meetings, golf outings, and our annual Transportation Night at Knott’s Berry Farm.
For more information, please contact the Scholarship Chairman or the LATC Administrator.
CHARITIES The Los Angeles Transportation Club endeavors to give back to our community. Through the generosity of our members and the success of our meetings, golf outings, and annual Transportation Night at Knott’s Berry Farm, the LATC annually contributes to local and national charities. Our 2006 recipients were the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Habitat for Humanity and the Boy Scouts of America. Past recipients have been Ronald McDonald House, City of Hope, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and Hillview Acres Children’s Home.
The LATC is continually looking for worthy charities to support. For more information on our fund raising activities or our charity work, please contact the Charity Chairman or the LATC administrator.
